How do I get my photo into Through the Windscreen?
Tap Send us a photo on the Through the Windscreen band, pick a picture, write a short caption, and we do the rest.
What we're looking for
Your cart, from your cart, or carts in the shot. That's the whole test. A photo of your own cart, the view forward from behind your windscreen, or friends out at the square with carts parked behind them — all of it counts.
Shots are taken parked, not moving. It's a rule of the feature, and it's also just better advice: a stopped cart gives a sharper picture.
The steps
- Tap Send us a photo.
- Tap Your photo and choose a picture from your phone.
- A white box appears over your photo. That's the part we'll show. It starts in the middle — drag it if you'd rather show something else, or leave it alone. There's a Put it back in the middle button if you change your mind.
- Type a first name or names — "Bill & Mary", "Jim & Tom".
- Add the moment or the place if you like — "Sunset run", "Tee time".
- Tick Is this shot from your cart? if you took it from behind your own windscreen.
- Send it.
Why does it stop me typing?
Each caption line holds 18 characters, and the counter under the box tells you how many you have left. That isn't us being fussy — it's exactly what fits on the white plate under your photo at a size people can actually read. We'd rather stop you at 18 than cut your words off in public.
Two short lines beat one long one. "Bill & Mary" on top, "Sunset run" underneath. First names only — no surnames, and nobody is tagged.
Why won't it take my photo?
- "That file isn't a photo." You've picked something that isn't a picture — a document or a video. Go back to your camera roll.
- "That photo is bigger than 20MB." Newer phones shoot very large files. When your phone asks what size to send, choose Medium or Large.
- "We couldn't finish trimming that photo." Something went wrong reading the file. Pick it again, and if it keeps happening try a different shot.
What gets published
Your first name and what you wrote. That's it. No last names, no tagging, no account, no notifications. It's a photo credit line, like a newspaper.
If there's a licence plate in your photo, we blur the numbers. The state stays — a plate from back home is half the fun.
Every photo is looked at before it goes up, so it won't appear the moment you send it.
Can I take it down?
Yes, any time. Get in touch and it comes down — no reason needed.
Still stuck?
Send us the photo any way you can reach us and tell us the caption you wanted. We'll put it in for you.
