Privacy Policy

VillagesGolfCartSales.com is run by The Trusted Pro Group, in The Villages, Florida ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, what we show publicly, what we never show, and who helps us run the site.

The short version: your phone number, email address and street address are never shown on a listing, we strip location data from your photos, and we don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

If you list a cart:

• Your email address, so we can send you sign-in links
• Your first name and mobile number
• Your street address, if you choose to give it. It is kept privately on your account
• Your cart's details: year, make, model, type, powertrain, seats, color, price, your description, and a VIN if the cart is street legal
• Where the cart is, in your own words: a village, neighborhood or town name. This box never takes a street address
• Your photos

If you contact a seller:

• Your name, email address, phone number if you choose to give it, and your message

If you ask us to post your cart for you:

• The same details as above, which you give us to post
• How and when you told us to go ahead (for example "by text"), so there is a record that you agreed. It is never shown on the site

Automatically, when you visit:

• Basic technical information our hosting provider records for every website visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view

We count anonymous page views, ad views and clicks to measure how the site is used. These are counts only — they are not linked to you, your name, your device or your IP address, and they are never used to build a profile or to target advertising.

We use no third-party analytics and no trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker anywhere on this site. The counting above is our own, it sets no cookie, and it stores no IP address. The one time another company is involved is when you choose to play a seller's video walkaround — see below.

We set one cookie, and only after you sign in. It keeps you signed in on that device for 30 days and holds nothing but a random value. Nothing on the site reads it except our own server, and signing out removes it. We use no cookies at all for advertising or tracking.

Your browser also remembers one small thing for the front-page directory of local firms: which list you saw last and the order it was in, so the next visit shows the other list in a new order. It is kept only in your own browser, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

What's public, and what never is

Shown on your listing: your first name, your cart's details and price, your photos, the location you typed, and — on a premium or dealer listing — a link to your video walkaround if you add one.

Never shown on a listing: your email address, your phone number, or your street address. Buyers reach you through the Contact Seller form on our site.

Dealers are the one exception, and only for their business. A registered dealer's listing shows the dealer's business name, business phone number and business street address, because those are a shopfront. The dealer's cards still show only the town. A private seller's street address is never shown anywhere on the site.

Your photos

When you upload a photo, we remove its hidden location data (the GPS coordinates many phones record) before it's stored. We keep a full-size copy of each photo, also with the location data removed, so we can re-crop it later if needed.

Video walkarounds

A premium or dealer listing can show one video, which the seller adds by pasting a link to it on YouTube or Facebook. We never upload or store the video itself.

Nothing from YouTube or Facebook loads until you press play. Until then the listing shows a plain play button and contacts neither company. When you press it, the video plays from that company's own player, and their privacy policy applies to that video from then on — they may set cookies or record that it was watched. For YouTube we use its privacy-enhanced player.

How Contact Seller works

When a buyer uses Contact Seller, we email their message to the seller, with the buyer's email address set as the reply address, so the seller can answer directly. Once the message has been delivered, we delete the buyer's name, email address, phone number and message text. We keep only a record that a message was sent, and which listing it was about. After that first contact, buyers and sellers deal with each other directly; we're not in the middle.

If the seller is a dealer, a copy of that email also goes to the site's owner, who receives a copy of every email the site sends to a dealer or a business. Messages to private sellers are never copied.

Automated checks on listings

Before a listing goes live, automated checks look at it: required details, photo count, price range, VIN format, and a scan of the photos for explicit content. The photo scan uses an artificial intelligence service. Your photos and listing details are sent to that service only to run these checks. Some checks may ask you a question about your listing; you can answer or dismiss it.

Who helps us run the site

We use a small number of service providers, each only for its own job:

• Hosting: Vercel
• Database and photo storage: Supabase
• Email delivery (sign-in links and Contact Seller messages): Resend
• Automated listing checks: Anthropic
• Video walkarounds, only when you press play: YouTube or Facebook, whichever the seller used
• Text messages, once we offer them: Twilio
• Payments, for dealer listings and advertising only — private sellers list free: Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

We don't sell your personal information

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We may share combined, anonymous statistics with dealers and advertisers, for example "how many people searched for six-seat lifted carts this month." These statistics never identify any individual.

Emails and text messages

We'll send you the emails you need to use the site, like sign-in links and messages about your listing. If you're a dealer or a business, the site's owner is copied on those emails; private sellers' emails are not copied. We'll only send news, offers or updates if you've opted in, and every one of those includes a way to unsubscribe.

If we offer text messages, we'll only text you if you've agreed to it. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

How long we keep information

• Listings you take down: the photos are deleted from our storage straight away, and the listing stops being visible immediately. We keep the listing record itself, without its photos, so we have a history of what was on the site.
• Drafts and listings whose time has run out: we keep these, with their photos, so you can finish or relist a cart later. Take one down from your manage page and it is removed as above.
• Sold listings: these stay on the site for 10 days marked SOLD, then leave the listings on their own. The record is kept.
• Your account: kept until you ask us to delete it.
• Contact Seller messages: the buyer's details and message are deleted once the message is delivered, as described above.

Your choices

• Edit or remove your listing at any time, from your carts.
• Ask us to delete your account and information by emailing hello@villagesgolfcartsales.com. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, or what we need to prevent fraud.
• Opt out of marketing using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, and our service providers run their own security on the systems they operate. No website can promise perfect security, so please don't put sensitive personal details, like financial information, in your listing description or messages.

Children

This site is for adults. You must be 18 or older to list a cart. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
