Why is part of my cart cut off in my photo?
Because your photo is taller than the frame the cards use, so something has to come off — and the card takes it evenly from the top and the bottom.
The short version
Every card on the site shows photos in the same shape: a wide rectangle, half again as wide as it is tall. Phone photos are usually much taller than that. The card keeps the middle, which is where the cart almost always is.
That means a tall photo can lose a little sky at the top and a little floor at the bottom. It is shared out rather than taken all from one end, so nothing important disappears in one go.
How to get the whole cart in the frame
- Turn your phone sideways. A landscape photo is already close to the card shape, so almost nothing is lost. This is the single best thing you can do.
- Stand further back. A step or two back puts the whole cart comfortably inside the frame with room to spare at both ends.
- Put the cart in the middle of the picture. Not up at the top, not down at the bottom. The middle is the part that always survives.
- Check the card after you post. What you see on the card is what buyers see, and you can replace a photo at any time.
Why not just keep the top, or just the bottom?
We tried keeping the top. It saved every roof, and it pushed the bodies and wheels out of the bottom of the frame — carts floating with no ground under them. Keeping the middle is the version that behaves sensibly whether your photo has room above the cart or below it.
Can I choose the part that shows?
Not yet on listing photos. Community photos sent to Through the Windscreen are different: those have a box you can drag, so you pick the part that shows.
Still stuck?
Post the photo you have. Re-shooting from a step further back, sideways, takes a minute, and a replaced photo goes live straight away.
